I believe these people were chosen to be in her audience and were special people because they gave back or did something nice for someone. As a christian, each and every day we are told to respect, help the needy, do unto others as you would want done to you. I think Oprah is one of the most giving persons in this world, but with today's recession/depression, we have so many families that would have benefited more, than watching on live TV the thousands of dollars given to a lot of middle to upper class people. It was a real turn off to me. Let's do more pay it forward in actions and forget the gifts. PS My family and I have taken care of a home for runaways for the past twenty years in Trenton,NJ.
