We learned how to play Mexican Train over the summer when my inlaws came to town. I don't think I would have chosen this game off the shelf if I hadn't played it first, but what a neat surprise! We have 5 kids, ranging from 7 to 14, and getting a game to fit everyone is a tough job. If it's challenging enough for the older kids, it's often beyond the comprehension of the younger crowd. We find that especially true of games that involve vocabulary. (Even Pictionary, a simple and classic game closet standard, can be tough on beginning readers.) Our family loves Mexican train; it has strategy and dots, and keeps the kids involved. It'll be in our game closet for a long time!
